Who is Moducad for?

Place your building in context

A building never exists in isolation. You can’t design a building without considering its surroundings and regulations.

In Moducad, you can visually place buildings in context anywhere in the Netherlands. Select an address or search on a map, and define the area around the planned project. The base map and 3D buildings are generated automatically.

We use public data provided for free by the government and 3DBAG.

Flexible building blocks provide freedom in design

Many solutions rely on static building blocks assembled in a traditional CAD package. Admittedly, a digital library of parts may look sleek, but making adjustments is time-consuming and complicated. As your portfolio grows, you will reach a point where that digital library only slows you down. We believe it can be faster and more flexible.

That’s why we use a knowledge model with parameters: it lets you assemble buildings from reusable flexible modules and rules. This way, a design remains scalable, adaptable, and feasible.

Is Moducad a BIM solution?

A building information model describes a specific project. In Moducad Studio, you work with a parametric knowledge model, where you define the rules of a product concept.

This means that in Moducad, you’re essentially creating a digital cookbook, while a BIM model is just one specific dish. When you configure a project with Moducad, the BIM model can be generated automatically!

What CAD package is used for Moducad?

The Moducad platform isn’t a plugin or extension of a traditional CAD program.

We’ve chosen an accessible web platform so everyone can easily follow a construction project. No need to install heavy software, deal with complex controls, or sift through an overload of information. The 3D visualization makes everything clear and intuitive, even if you’re not an engineer.
